Concordia College Assessment Committee Minutes

March 22, 2005, 2:40-3:40, Old Main 126

Members Present: Betty Larson, Mary F.D. Larson, Kathie Leeper, Ruth Lumb, Viann Pederson, Marilyn Guy, Michael Wohlfeil (Chairperson)

1. The committee continued its discussion of the next steps in the curriculum review process. Committee members continued to express frustration that the curriculum review process was moving forward without plans to identify specific student-learning outcomes to guide the process. Though a compromise, the committee will ask that the summer task forces, as part of the charges given to them by the Faculty Senate (Core Committee), identify student-learning outcomes, consistent with the goals for liberal learning, in order to guide their summer deliberations.
2. The committee discussed revisions to the departmental self-study guidelines. Viann will make the revisions and sent out a revised draft to the committee. Discussion of the guidelines will continue at the next meeting, April 5.

Next Meeting: The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2004, Old Main 126, 2:40 pm.
