Special Awards Committee

Charge: Develops opportunities for recognition of faculty and students. Coordinates the processes for selecting faculty and students for recognition and awards. Recommends candidates for honorary degrees to the Faculty Senate.

Specific Responsibilities for 2003-04: Consider development of more proactive process for recommendations for honorary degrees; Coordinate with Alumni Achievement Awards; Clarify nomination process for Wije Professorship.

Membership consists of five faculty (one of whom is chair), two students and a representative from academic affairs.  (current committee membership list)
