A. delete PE 112: Social Dance from the list of course requirements. rationale: BOT Standard of Effective Practice 8710.4650 3A6 (demonstrating physical response to music through dance) is covered in ED 391: Methods of Teaching Vocal Music.
B. delete ED 393: Methods in Instrumental Music from the list of requirements. rationale: ED 393 is redundant for vocal music education majors because:
i. BOT Standard 3B4 (interpreting vocal and instrumental scores and understand percussion, string or wind instrument requirements for interpreting and producing music from scores) is being met in MUS 394: String and Woodwind Techniques and MUS 395: Brass and Percussion Techniques.
ii. the general education topics covered in ED 393 are taught in ED 391: Methods of Teaching Vocal Music.
C. remove MUS 343: Instrumentation from the list of course requirements. rationale: MUS 343 is redundant because orchestral and band instruments are being studied in MUS 394: String and Woodwind Techniques and MUS 395: Brass and Percussion Techniques
