Curriculum Committee Minutes

Members present: Susan Cordes-Green, Mark Gealy, Stephen Grollman, Michelle Lelwica, Mary Rice, Jonathan Steinwand (chair), Samantha Schmidt

Minutes of January 23, 2008 meeting were approved

The meeting began with old business. Biology had two items, first a new course proposal for BIO 207 Fundamental Microbiology, and second a course modification for Bio 407, Microbiology. Both proposals were approved.

The next item of old business was a course modification proposal for HIST/Scan Studies 337. History of Scandinavia. This proposal was also approved.

The final item of old business was a modification of course proposal for SWK 383 Methods I Social Work Process and the Helping Relationship and SWK 285 Interviewing. This proposal was approved.

The final item of old business was for a modification of course description for English 353: American Literature: Realism to Present. This description was approved.

In new business, we reviewed a new course proposal for Music 232: History of Western Music. This course was not approved. Feedback will be sent to the music department

The second item of new business was a modification of course content for the Inq 100 Adventure, which will be adding an exploration seminar in Scotland. This proposal was approved.

The final item was a second modification of course description from English, this time for Eng 353: American Literature: Beginnings to Realism. This description was approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30.
