Faculty Executive Committee
Charge, Duties of the Executive Committee of the Faculty:
- Discuss and set priorities for business to be considered by the
Faculty-as-a-Whole and the Faculty Senate. Place items of business on
the agendas for meetings of the Faculty Senate which result from these
discussions. Place and schedule items of business for meetings of the
Faculty-as- a-Whole and recommend rules for the conduct of that
business.
- Adjudicate questions of faculty authority (primary, joint or
advisory).
- Review and analyze the work of the faculty standing committees and
ad hoc task forces.
- Consider issues related to the good of the college.
- Serve as a faculty consulting body to the dean of the college and
the president.
Specific Responsibilities for 2003-04: Discussion of the
Strategic Plan components; Facilitate faculty deliberation on key issues
for the college (e.g., strategic plan and budget); Facilitate
deliberations about the Presidential search, as requested.
Membership consists of four tenured faculty senators, the
secretary of the faculty, the dean of the college, and the president
