Department Chair’s Responsibilities to the CC IRB

1. Complete the CC IRB Required Education for Principal Investigators, Key Research Personnel, IRB Members, and IRB Delegates or appoint a representative to do so and inform the CC IRB of the name of the departmental representative.

2. Carefully evaluate protocols and document the review process on the CC IRB Protocol Review Checklist or a similar document.

3. Submit the required Chairperson's Report of Approved Departmental Exempt Research at the end of each academic semester.

Please keep records of all reviewed research for at least 3 years.
