23 May - Faculty Colloquium Series, Call for Proposals

Faculty in all disciplines are encouraged to submit proposals for the 2006-2007 academic year. The Faculty Colloquium Series offers an opportunity for faculty to gather as an academic community and to present scholarly projects and research with colleagues.

The 2006-2007 format has a few changes from previous years. There are two Community Times reserved for the FCS. Two presentations are scheduled in the Centrum. Each presentation should be a maximum of 20 minutes with 10 additional minutes for questions and answers. There will also be the usual Tuesday afternoon sessions, 4:30-5:30 p.m., in Frida Nilsen Lounge. The Tuesday afternoon sessions should be 40 minutes maximum with an additional 20 minutes for Q & A.

The available dates are:

  • Community Time, Friday, December 1, 2006 (two 20-minute presentations)
  • Community Time, Friday, January 19, 2007 (two 20-minute presentations)
  • Tuesday, February 6, 2007 (one 40-minute presentation)

Note: A FCS is also scheduled on Tuesday, October 3. This date has been reserved for a faculty member who requested a time slot in the 2005-2006 academic year but we were unable to accommodate.

Please submit all proposals to Paul Seifert at seifert@cord.edu. Please include the title of your presentation, a one-paragraph description, and your choice of date one of the available dates. The deadline for proposals is Friday, June 30, 2006. Proposals submitted prior to the June 30 deadline will receive first consideration. Proposals submitted after the June 30 deadline will be accepted for time slot that may remain available.

Faculty presenters will receive a $150.00 honorarium for the Tuesday sessions and $75 for the Community Time sessions.
