Dietetic Internship



Dietetic Internship Introduction - Concordia College Auxiliary Services - Moorhead, MN 56562
The Dietetic Internship program at Concordia College is for graduates of approved undergraduate programs, through a cooperative arrangement between the college and area healthcare facilities. Concordia's program has received developmental accreditation by the American Dietetic Association (ADA). Students enrolled in the program receive an emphasis in food service management.

Admission Requirements
  • Must have completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics at a college approved by the ADA and received a verification stating completion of the knowledge requirements.
  • Entrance preference will be given to those with food work experience.
  • Entrance preference will be given to those with a GPA of at least 3.0.

Program Costs
  • The cost of the program is $7000, with an additional $18.63 for liability insurance.
  • Health insurance is the applicant's private matter, and must be located individually.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, with total expenses estimated to be less than $600 per student per year.
  • Housing is the responsibility of the applicant, and is usually available for less than $450 per month.
  • Students are required to join the ADA, which is approximately $43 per year.

Program Schedule
  • Beginning in June, the Dietetic Internship program consists of 46 weeks of supervised practice experience with a specialization in food service management.
  • A weeklong orientation begins the program.
  • Each week will consist of 40 hours at the assigned rotation.
  • Vacation days are granted for major holidays.
  • Forty percent will be at the Concordia College Dining Services, supervised by Debra Lee M.S. LRD.
  • Thirty percent will be at medical and retirement centers, with information resources provided by Kristi Cassola LRD.
  • Thirty percent will be in community nutrition programs, divided among private practices, outpatient clinics, public school food service and the local health department.
