Theatre Majors at Concordia

The academic major in Theatre Art is designed for students who want to continue working in the theatre professionally or plan to pursue a graduate study in theatre. The Theatre minor is designed for students who wish to become more theatre educated and continually participate on a smaller level.

Both the theatre major and minor are designed to give students educational and technical experience.  Along with courses to educate students about the different theatrical aspects, Concordia Theatre expects its majors and minor to participate in the theatre season.  There are many different ways to contribute to producing a show, and students should be able to find a place that they enjoy working.

But the theatre major or minor is not only a stand-alone career.  Many students combine a theatre major or minor with an art, English, communication studies, or music major.  The theatre program encourages students to find the theatre within their other areas of interest, for what is learned in the theatre can help in any walk of life.
