The Elephant Man tells the story of John Merrick, a terribly deformed man who was relegated to a squalid life in Victorian England's Freak shows.  Dr.  Treves, a surgeon in a London hospital, rescues Merrick.  Mrs. Kendal, a compassionate actress with friends in the right places, offers momentary salvation.  Over time, Merrick becomes more "human" to those around him, who learn to see beyond his physical disabilities.

Two Gentlemen of Verona
(the rock musical)

by John Guare, Mel Shapiro & Galt MacDermot

November 8-11 & 15-18, 2007
directed by Jim Cermak

Two Gentlemen of Verona is the 1972 Tony Award-winning musical that began with the New York Shakespeare Festival in Central Park.  A love-rock version of Shakespeare's classic comedy, lyrics veered between Shakespearean poetry and pop verse.  The production team took a playful approach to creative casting and included music by Galt MacDermot, the composer of "Hair."
