We値l travel
to the world痴 greatest theatre city, London, where we値l seek every
opportunity to study theatre activities, performances and productions,
both onstage and backstage. From the Fringe to Covent Garden to current
productions at the Royal National Theatre and the West End theatre
district, every theatre performance space and production will be our
classroom. To expand our insights, knowledge and repertoire, Concordia
actors, singers, dancers, directors, managers, designers and
administrators will attend current productions, visit with British
educators and students, and discuss living and working in the theatre
industry with performers, designers, managers, or directors currently
living in London. We値l also arrange a few backstage theatre visits in
London and take a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare痴
birthplace and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company. By exploring the
underlying principles of theatre production and performance and applying
them to European and American production styles, we値l gain a unique
worldview to many potential career paths in the performing arts. Riding
the Tube or the double-decker buses, we値l also explore places of
historical significance in London, including the Tower of London and
Harrods department store.
