Finding Company & Industry Information 

Many companies have web pages that include job listings, company information and contact people. To find these web pages you may need to use the exact corporate name or Ticker when searching. To find a corporate name or Ticker use a directory like

Standard & Poor's register of corporations, directors and executives Ref HG4057.A4 
Includes address, phone, web address, main executive officers, sales, number of employees, products or business, NAICS, and for some listings - stock exchange and ticker. 

Hoover's Online 
Edgar Database
ValueLine Investment Surveys
AnnualReports.com
Yahoo! Finance Company and Fund Index
Manta

Fortune 500 Companies list from CNNMoney.com

When you find a corporate web page look for links like employment, jobs, about, contact us and company information. You can also try using Google to locate the about or history pages.
        Example sample searches using Google:
                about or history site:target.com
                employment or jobs site:target.com
                "vice president of *" site:target.com

To find additional company and industry information - news stories, financial data, SWOT analysis, international/global issues... use an index or database.

     Multi-layered database with full-text for most items
