How Do I Import References from Library Databases Into RefWorks?These directions apply to the following database:
1. Conduct a search in CINAHL. 2. Check the box to select your article. (See illustration.)
3. Click on the Results Manager to save the citations on your computer. (See illustration.)
4. In the Results Manager, select "Complete Reference" under Fields and "Ovid" under Results Format. Then click to save the citations on your computer. (See illustration.)
5. On the next screen, select Windows if you are using a PC... and Macintosh... if you are using a Mac. Then click on Continue. 6. Click on the "Save" button to save the file on your computer. (Note: Select a location on your computer so that you will be able to find the file during the import process.) 7. Log in to your RefWorks. 8. From the References drop-down menu at the top left of your screen, select Import. 9. On the Import screen, change the Import Filter/Data Source field to OVID and the Database to CINAHL. Then click on on the Browse button to locate the file you saved from CINAHL. (See illustration.)
10. Click on the Import button to move the CINAHL citations into RefWorks. (You will see a "references imported" confirmation when your citations have successfully been transferred.) 11.
