Management Information
Systems (MIS) Program and Your Degree:
Concordia's MIS Program is an interdisciplinary plan of study that gives
students an intentionally integrated preparation for the workplace through a
combination of the liberal arts, technology skills, and the principles of the
functional areas of business.
Requirements
for the MIS Program are a major (e.g. in Business, Computer Science, or Economics) and
completion of all of the courses listed below:
Accounting
155, 156
Business 303, 339
Computer Science 104, 125, 225, 330, 340, 345, 380
Economics 201, 274
Business Education 415
One of the following math courses: Math 121 or 203, plus
A one-credit coop/internship
including a half credit in C SC 390,
and a half credit in one of the following: BUS 390, ECON 390, or B ED 390.
Students in the MIS Program can choose between an emphasis on technology by majoring in computer science, or an emphasis on management by majoring in business or economics. Students who complete the MIS Program will have this noted on their transcript in addition to the individual major(s) that they complete. The capstone to this program is a one-credit Cooperative Education experience that emphasizes the integration of technology and business skills.
