Computer Science Department Goals

Students who major in computer science should:

1.      Demonstrate mastery of fundamental skills basic to computer science to include (but not limited to):


2.      Be able to effectively apply the systems life cycle process of analysis, design, implementation and testing when solving real-world problems through:


3.      Be able to communicate effectively with others who are either from inside or outside the discipline, both


4.      Be able to work effectively as part of a team on various software projects


5.      Be a life-long learner who pursues continued professional development by seeking out knowledge and experiences beyond the classroom, such as


6.      Recognize the ethical and social implications of computer use, including a commitment to the ACM/IEEE Code of Ethics
