Important Information!
Students,
Concordia’s Campus
Entertainment Commission (CEC) is busy planning this year's
Cornstock Spring
Festival. This
year's event will take place on April 26th from approximately 1:00pm to
6:00pm. As you may know, the lineup with include “The Spill Canvas”,
“Amber Pacific”, “The Alarmists”, and the winner of Concordia’s Battle
of the Bands - “HearNow”.
Over the years, some
significant changes happened in order to make the event more successful.
As some of you may remember, the future of this event was in jeopardy
because of the poor choices MANY Concordia students made in regards to
their alcohol consumption. We had an excellent event in 2007 and hope to
continue this progress in 2008. In order to maintain the same quality of
event, we are going to carry on with the policies that have contributed
to its success. Even with these policies in place, it is important
that each of you recognize your personal responsibility and help us make
this a positive event.
Important things to know
about this year's event:
1. Private Show - no
general admission tickets will be available for public purchase. Each
Concordia student will receive 1 ticket (w/ their ID) and will be
allowed to purchase 1 guest pass for $10 on the day of the show. The
Concordia student will be responsible for the behavior of that guest.
2. No re-entry will be
allowed. Once you arrive and enter the festival gate, you will need
to stay until you are ready to leave permanently.
3. No bags of any kind will
be allowed in the festival area. This includes purses, waist-packs,
back-packs, etc. Concordia personnel will not be responsible for any
items left outside the gate area.
4. No cameras or video
taping devices of any kind will be allowed in the festival area.
5. No outside food or
beverage will be allowed in festival area. Concordia personnel will not
be responsible for any items left outside the gate area.
Concessions will be available throughout the event. Dining Dollars
and Cobber Cash will NOT be available so bring cash for purchases. Water
will be sold for $1 and soda will be sold for $1.25.
6. Crowd Surfing will not
be allowed. Students caught crowd surfing may be escorted from the
festival area. No re-entry will be allowed.
7. Concordia College
reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone based on their behavior,
perceived intoxication level, and/or inappropriate or offensive clothing
choices (possibly including alternative event T-shirts).
CEC has worked with Auxiliary Services to provide an all campus BBQ
lunch on the day of the event. Students on the board plan will be able
to use their IDs. Students without board plans will be able to purchase
lunch for $6.50. It is important to note that Anderson Dining will be
closed for lunch on this day.
CEC has been working very
hard to make this event possible again this year. Please do your part by
making appropriate choices and holding your peers accountable in doing
the same. This includes your behavior on or off campus before, during,
and after the event as well. By picking up your ticket for this event,
you are agreeing to abide by the policies and expectations.
Please feel free to email
cec@cord.edu if you have any questions about this year's event!
Sincerely,
