What is Fuel the Fire?
Fuel the Fire is a one-day conference, sponsored by LeadNowä. This is the fourth year of Fuel the Fire, but each year it is different, energizing, and fun! The conference includes something for everyone!

Keynote Speaker - Brenda Bertrand
former Special Assistant to the Director, United States Office of Personnel Management

Brenda Bertrand has invested over a decade in active engagement, research and personal experience to  keep an attentive ear to what this generation wants for their future and the complex challenges they face in leadership and life.

Brenda honed her leadership skills in a well rounded career in the worlds of media, higher education, international missions, and fast-track politics in the nation’s capital.

From 2003-2006, Brenda held a White House political appointment in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C.   Other career highlights include work as a television news anchor, global expedition director with Teen Mania, and dean of women at a leadership academy.  These experiences have given her insight into the pervasive leadership vacuum in the marketplace and the skills needed to thrive in high demand and influential environments.

Currently, Brenda serves as a chaplain at Georgetown University and maintains an active speaking schedule. Audiences nationwide have experienced Brenda’s energetic and down-to-earth trademark style at notable universities including the U.S. Air Force Academy, Howard University, Towson University, Grambling State University, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Taylor University, the Leadership Institute and the Honor Academy. 

Brenda is committed to motivating this generation to develop the heart and skills needed to thrive in demanding and influential environments without compromising values, morals and quality personal life.
