It serves to make people, not of a Hip Hop background, to reevaluate
their perception of Hip Hop which is commonly influenced by corporate
entities such as MTV and BET. The Hip Hop Congress is a small part of
the broader global movement of Hip Hop which all too often gives voices
to the voiceless and community to those without one.
