LeadNowä Student Organizations Funding Grant

Become a better leader while earning money for your organization!

Concordia Student Organization members can earn money for their organizations by attending LeadNow™ sessions through a grant created by the Student Involvement Council.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guidelines for receiving LeadNow™ grant funding are as follows:

  1. All recognized student organizations in good standing are eligible for LeadNow™ grant funding.

  2. Students can earn $10 for each organization member attending a LeadNow™ session.

  3. Students may only earn $10 of LeadNow™ funding for one organization at a time.

  4. Grant money is available beginning in January 2008 and will not be retroactive.

  5. Organizations may receive a maximum of $150.00 grant funds each semester.

  6. $2,000.00 total is available through the LeadNow™ grant each semester.

  7. Student Activity Fee funding guidelines still apply to the money allocated through the LeadNow™ grant.

  8. Funds allocated must be spent by the organization by April 30 of the current year. If LeadNow™ grant funds are not spent this deadline, any remaining money will be automatically transferred back into the student activity fee reserve fund.

  9. Procedures to "apply" for the grant are as follows:

    • Students must register for a LeadNow™ session.

    • In the LeadNow™ session registration form, students must list the organization which they are a member and wish to receive the funds from the grant as organization/group # 1.

    • Students must attend the LeadNow™ session.

    • Session reflection forms must be filled out thoroughly and thoughtfully.

    • After the completion of the session, the leader of the student organization must e-mail a list of the members who participated to LeadNow™ staff (leadnow@cord.edu).

    • LeadNow™ staff will verify student attendance at the session, the quality of the reflection form, and the listing of the organization in the student's registration.

    • Once grant criteria are verified by LeadNow™ staff, the funding will be transferred to the organizations account and the organization will be notified within 3 business days.

  10. Funding may be allocated for any LeadNow™ session, excluding Ignite, service projects or service requirements, and the Leader Mentor discussion.

  11. Any organization has the right to refuse the LeadNow™ grant money. Upon refusal, this money will be transferred back into the LeadNow™ grant fund.
